V is for Vanity

This is the 2nd skateboard deck I’ve done for a three-part series wherein I explore a new style of painting. I’ve done skateboard decks before, and in fact it is my favorite surface to work on. However, this series looks quite different from my previous work, and it shows in the details; real objects that I have tried to depict this time around, as opposed to using graphical elements as filler. It was fun doing this series, I am almost sad to see the third and last deck finished. It has been personally fulfilling to finally achieve the depth and realism that I felt was lacking in my previous works, and I am keen to further develop this style on future paintings.

V is for Vice

My favorite customized skateboard deck so far. This deck is
more meaningful than usual, as this is the first time I've tried out this painting style, and it was not as difficult as I anticipated. It didnt take too long to do either; I was able to complete it in under a week. For this deck, I used a blending brush to achieve the gradient effects, and it works like a dream!

Paris in Winter

The day that I arrived in the City of Lights, it was cold and there was snow falling from the grey skies. I felt like I was in a timewarp while exploring the picturesque neighborhoods . I got lost in the hallways of the Louvre and took long leisurely walks on the Champs-Élysées. It is very easy to fall in love with Paris. No other city is as charming and beautiful and nostalgic. On my last day, I stood atop the Eiffel tower and gazed at the twinkling lights of the city reflected on the Seine, and thought to myself that one day I will be back, walk the same streets, eat at the same cafes, and live the past four days, sometime again in the future.

Philips Senso Touch 3d Launch and Exhibition

Philips launched the new Senso Touch 3d at an event held at Armani Hotel, Burj Khalifa (the tallest building in the world as of writing!) last October 20, 2010. Part of the event was an exhibit showcasing artworks that were creative interpretations of the new product.
5 artists from different disciplines were invited to create a work of art inspired by the Philips Senso Touch 3d. As one of the invited artists, I created a mural for the event, using acrylic on wood as my chosen medium. The mural was made out of three wooden boards, and hung rather unconventionally ( on a baggage trolley and clothes hangers).
There will be a follow-up exhibition at the Shelter Gallery, Al Quoz, Dubai soon and the artworks will be auctioned off for charity.
